New Lubbesthorpe

New Lubbesthorpe is the initiative of the Drummond Trust and a pioneering community with places to live, work, learn, play and enjoy, with vibrant urban amenities in a rich rural setting.

New Lubbesthorpe is a thriving new community set in 325 acres of new parklands with woodlands, ponds, walking and cycling routes. The Hub offers lots of activities and events to get the community together and the leisure centre, shops and services are coming soon.

Plans were first made in 2008 to create New Lubbesthorpe. The landowners, promoters, Barratt/Davidsons and Hallam Land worked closely with Blaby District Council and Leicestershire County Council to master plan a major new community providing much-needed new homes, jobs, facilities and services, in a way that conserves the qualities of the local area and the features of the site – especially its established landscape of trees and woods, brooks, archaeology, history and ecology.

Plans were approved in 2014 and building started soon after, progressively laying out the new infrastructure of roads, bridges, drainage systems and parks. They have upgraded and connected-in power, water and drainage networks, opened the first Primary School, and are planning the first neighbourhood shopping centre. Working closely with development partners, there are nearly 800 homes complete and the second phase, a further 400 new homes, is being designed. The strategic employment site first phase has been built by Goodman and let to 4PX and Tremco.

The full 4,250 homes development, with its vibrant urban amenities in a rich rural setting, will evolve over the next two decades, growing into a truly sustainable 21st century new community. New Lubbesthorpe promises to be one of the most attractive places to live in the region.
